SIDDHARTHA DAS

Siddhartha Das graduated as an Exhibition Designer from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India. He works on projects that deal with culture, heritage and public usage. He is a cultural consultant to various organizations. He is a Nehru Trust, Charles Wallace Fellow, Asia Society Fellow; been on Study tours to France, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland and the UK through their respective Embassies. Over the last 16 years, He has led or collaborated on roughly 100 cultural projects in eight countries, on strategies and design for heritage, public, museums and other cultural spaces.

The most recent work in India has comprised a series of initiatives involving conceiving, curating and designing museums and heritage complexes, heritage sites, art programmes for an airport and an institutional space, public art, public garden, urban furniture, photography and crafts projects.

He is a visiting academic faculty at Central Saint Martin's, London, UK; Willem de Kooning Academie (WdKA), Rotterdam, the Netherlands; CEPT and National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad.

In 2009, he was awarded the International Young Design Entrepreneur Award at the 100% Design Fair in London by the British Council.He started the studio in 2002 and over 17 years, his Studio has led or collaborated on roughly 100 cultural projects in seven countries across four continents, on different aspects of planning, strategies and design for heritage, public, museums and other cultural spaces.

Some of his accomplishments include the scenography of Interior Space of the 18th century monument, Jal Mahal, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India; Curation & Design of a Film Museum,Guwahati, Assam, India; One of nine international designers invited to submit concept design proposal for the ICRC/Red Cross Museum, Geneva, Switzerland; Curation & Concept Design of a public space (a Plaza) Monterrey, Mexico; and in Chiba, Japan; Curation & Design of Museum Exhibition: Indian Fans, Museum Rietberg, Zurich, Switzerland; Co-Concept Designer of Exhibition: Encounters, Victoria & Albert Museum, London, UK; Curation & Concept Design Proposal for Museums: Museum on Transport, Children's Museum on the History of Delhi, for Archaeological Survey of India.
