ROSHAN ABBAS

One of India's finest orators and storytellers, Roshan Abbas is an actor; TV & radio host; producer; event manager; creative, film & theatre director; lyricist; CEO; angel investor; serial entrepreneur, author; public speaking coach. Roshan Abbas has spent two decades gathering domain expertise and entered Bollywood with his directorial debut under the banner of Shahrukh Khan's Red Chillies Production in 2011.

Roshan was already a reputed TV and Radio anchor, when he entered the field of event management and BTL communication in 1999 with ENCOMPASS. After guiding Encompass to its current leadership position in just 10 years, Roshan forged a partnership with WPP by a sale of stake in 2008. Today, Encompass, with an annual turnover of 40 million USD is amongst India's most awarded, biggest and best BTL agencies. Encompass' winning habit percolates from Roshan himself, who has won over 7 radio and TV awards in his career. Roshan has served on the 2008-2009 Cannes Promo Lions Jury as well.

Amongst his achievements are three RAPA awards for best Radio n TV host and the Screen award for best TV host. He has also written and directed musicals and plays performed across the country. Having hosted events in over 100 cities in India and abroad, he is a veteran live anchor hosting a multitude of events from Business events, Conventions, TV awards, Debates and discussions. As an incurable creative mentor, he plays Bhishma Pitamah to the young team that leads the agency and the CEO Sukrit Singh.

Additionally, Roshan is the founder of Kommune, a community story-telling group that seeds creative performance art ideas. Storytellers, their pilot project, acts as a performing arts platform that gathers stories and their tellers; allowing them to share their tales across the country. He also helped conceptualise Spoken festival, bringing together performers from across the world for storytelling, poetry, spoken word, and song. Deeply involved in education with a focus on media in 2006, Roshan was the founder of the EMDI Encompass Institute of Radio Management and often speaks at premier media institutes across India with a focus on the entertainment industry.

Having fuelled his insatiable appetite to learn and innovate in the field of event management and communication, he is now set to take the stage as Jafar.
