ANTHONY LOPEZ

The Founder and Principal, Anthony Lopez guides his studio practice with a clear purpose of delivering relevant and engaging solutions around the principle of 'Doing Greater Good'. An energetic person from a humble background with deep self-belief, Lopez brings enviable strength in inspiring a diverse group of people to work together.

Anthony's diverse experience led him to work on large and complex branding projects, from big screen outdoor audio visuals and projection mapping to bespoke environment branding, web products and many others. He enjoys orchestrating these projects and turning them into opportunities with fresh perspectives, infusing meaning in everything he does.

An NID alumni with a Master's in Visual Communication, he advocates his philosophy "The why of what we do is more important than what we do". Anthony believes for branding to be meaningful, it must necessarily move in several different directions simultaneously. Under his steering at Lopez Design, which he established in 1997, identity design and branding has grown beyond paper, hoardings and digital interfaces. He has redefined branding as a permeable spatial system emphasising its need to be contextual to people, place and local culture. Anthony's ambidextrous methods and dogged pursuit of excellence and integrity has gotten him many accolades. Lopez Design played a pioneering role in the fusion of storytelling, games and puzzles with corporate culture.

A popular speaker, Anthony has given talks at national and international platforms. He engages with young minds by teaching them about collective conscious, humanism and the soul in good design, to 'what guides designers' to becoming influencers and shapers of society. Anthony is on the board and advisor to several schools of design influencing how young design minds should be shaped for tomorrow.

Anthony's love for dialogues across fields catalysed our studio's monthly Lopez Design Forum, where experts from diverse fields present their thinking and work, from young inventors and academics to creative professionals and eminent artists. When he's not working, he's dreaming up his next breakthrough for design.
