Light Odyssey was a site specific concert created by six different design companies for the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool for the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Commissioned by Alex Rinsler, creative director of Lightpool, this design was part of the section created for the finale of the concert by the final year students of Video Design for Live Performance at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Designed to Benjamin Britten’s Sea Interludes Moonlight and Storm, Amelia created a fictional painted pier made of Blackpool landmarks and set it to a background of ink making up the sea and the sky.
Amelia Kosminsky is a visual artist focusing in video design, light sculpture and photography. She studied photography at London College of Communications and Video Design for Live Performance at Guildhall School.
