Arctic Adventure An Immersive Exhibition

The Arctic comes to life as Moment Factory and the Museum of Science, Boston create engaging exhibit experiences with generative content and interactive tools.

The Museum of Science, Boston (MOS), one of the world’s largest science centers, invited Moment Factory to collaborate on the development of its upcoming permanent exhibit, marking the first step of the renovation of its largest gallery, the Blue Wing. Comprising four distinct zones, the exhibit immerses visitors into an awe-inspiring environment with generative real-time content fine-tuned to change everything from sunlight hues and animal behaviour to the hour and season.

After stepping through a multisensory ice cave, visitors take on the role of Arctic scientists using various interactive tools to locate animals and analyze ice cores, discovering evidence about the history and health of our climate. Visitors also get to attempt to traverse a virtual ice field, all while avoiding subsurface crevasses, aided by real-time feedback about each of their cautious steps.
