LIGHT A WISH

If wishes were dandelions. And why can't they be? Artists Merav Eitan and Gaston Zahr of the OBE Group in Haifa, Israel decided to re-create with light, that moment of hope and wild imagining we have when we blow the fluff off a dandelion, close our eyes and hope for the best.

That infinitesimal moment, that suspension of belief is the stuff we hold onto, the illusions that carry us forward in the real world. That the architect-artist duo decided to create by bending technology in the service of imagination and belief.

The enlarged fuzzy seeds, of which there are twenty; are two metres tall. They dangle carefully above the canal and glow in a way that makes them look like they are breathing. Who said life isn't a technicoloured, dandelion-sized dream?
